One of the most important things to do when practising music is to listen to yourself play. When youre playing an instrument or singing, its difficult to listen clearly to what youre doing, partly because your attention is focussed on your technique, and partly because the sound you make is picked up through your body as well as through your ears. Thats why its critically important to be able to record your playing and listen to the recording.

While youre practising, though, it takes time and effort to get into a groove - to focus your entire attention on the sound you are producing and the feel of your instrument in your hands, or of your voice. Once you recede completely into your music and become oblivious to the outside world, youre able to work at your best.

The last thing you want to do once youve reached this state is to break your concentration, disconnect from what you were doing, walk across the room and fiddle with your recording equipment.

Acoustic Mirror runs in the background. While you play a phrase or a section of music, it records your playing. When you stop, it automatically plays back what was just recorded. Acoustic Mirror can ignore background noise and speaking voices, so you can leave the app running throughout a rehearsal or lesson.
